August is approaching, y’all—a time of harvest, expectation, and preparation. While the summer is still going strong, the promise of fall lies around the corner. Slowly the days get shorter, and we reap that which we’ve sown in the past months.
I have three new offerings coming up in August that I’m very excited to share with you! Here’s a bit about each of them:
Stitches that Mend Workshop
I’m starting a new round of my virtual workshop for quilting as a spiritual practice. Over the course of six weeks (for one 1-hour gathering each week), we will dive into the depth of wisdom that can be found in the time-honored tradition of quilting by hand.
This workshop is great for all levels of experience, including complete beginners! Each participant will have access to beginner-friendly instructional videos for the whole process of quilting.
Enrollment in this workshop will cost $45 total—for all six community gatherings, instructional content, and an approach to this practice that you’ll be able to use long after the workshop is over. If this regular price is restrictive to you, you can sign up for $20, no questions asked.
Interested? Please use this form to let me know what days/times are best for you. I will keep you posted on the start date!

Creative Pondering Workshop-in-a-Box
This is a completely new offering coming up this month!
What if instead of thinking our way through our big life questions, we created our way through them? This go-at-your-own-pace workshop will start to explore this idea with guided reflection and creativity.
When you purchase access to this pre-recorded workshop, I will mail you a small box full of miscellaneous bits and bobs—scraps of fabric, beads, glue, colorful paper, string, etc. The workshop’s video content will begin with some guided reflection in order to select one question or theme that is coming up for you in your life. For the remainder of the process, I will lead you through a creative pondering session, in which you will use the items in your box to form something visual and tactile that speaks to your personal question. At the end, it is my hope that you will have gained some fruitful perspectives or reflections on the question you ponder.
This workshop is all about the process, not the product. So even if you don’t consider yourself an artistic person, don’t be intimidated! The point is to use an approach that we may not typically use in our everyday lives to reflect on our lives, relationships, goals, hopes, fears…you name it.
The cost of this workshop is $20. This cost helps cover the postage and materials for the box I will send to you upon purchase. This box will also include instructions for accessing the video content of the workshop.
**Pre-order the workshop-in-a-box now! Shipping out in late August.**

Pay What You Wish Art
Okay so technically, I’ve already started this one in July. But it’s practically August, so we’re including it in this round-up.
Lately, I’ve been feeling very inspired by the idea and practice of Pay What You Wish (PWYW) art offerings. To give credit where credit is due, one maker who has been doing this for a while now is weaver Jennifer Mao (@jjj_mao on Instagram), who you should definitely check out if you’re unfamiliar with her weavings.
At the Wild Goose Festival, I sold a few stoles in a PWYW structure and had a great experience doing that. I have a deep desire for art to be accessible to anyone who is moved by it, finds it beautiful or compelling or funny, or who simply wants to experience it for themselves.
I’ve also been feeling a pull to be more experimental and playful in my work. Making pieces in this way and then offering them to you as PWYW feels like a good and spacious way to counteract some of the tedious and difficult parts of making art for a living. This is something I can do with the sole purpose of leaning into fun, generosity, and connection.
If I could sustainably use a PWYW pricing structure for all my work, I would be so thrilled to do so, but I’m definitely not there yet. So for now, I want to start offering some individual pieces in this way on my Instagram.
Here’s how it will work:
I’ll post PWYW pieces one at a time on a regular-ish basis. These pieces may be more experimental or use media that I don’t typically use. They may not. Who knows. (Note: for the time being, all of the PWYW pieces will be posted and claimed only on Instagram, for simplicity’s sake. If it is of interest to folks, I am also open to sharing some PWYW pieces via email.)
If a piece resonates with you and you’d like to purchase it, message me and let me know, including the amount you’d like to pay for it. There is no minimum or maximum price for these pieces, or as Jennifer Mao says, “no floor, no ceiling.”
And that’s it!
I’ve already posted one PWYW offering and sent it off to its new home with an absolutely lovely human. I’m very excited to do more of these, so keep an eye out!
